Work on the river bank, August 2025

This photo was taken from the Didsbury golf course side of the Mersey and shows work being done in the area of the breach in the bank. The white sacks containing rocks and earth can be seen in the background waiting to be removed from the site. Also in the background is part of Simon Field. On some days dozens of lorry-loads of clay and other materials were transported to the site to add strength to the bank. The work was carried on during a predominantly dry summer.
