This developed on the brick wall near the crest of the road. Uncontrolled root and branch growth into the brickwork had caused the top layer of the historic wall to be arched upwards. There was a six-inch gap in the wall, as can be seen, with vegetation spreading horizontally along the top. This would become a health and safety issue if not rectified.
