Vehicle Activated Speed Sign, June 2022
This was erected on Dene Road near the junction with Fordbank Road and faced traffic travelling from the direction of Wilmslow Road. The speed limit was 20 mph. As a motorist approached, a light would flash up the vehicle’s speed – green for accepted speed and red for exceeded speed. Photo taken later in the year.
It was hoped that the sign would have a significant impact on the efficacy of the overall road safety scheme and build upon the two new-safe crossings and additional road markings.
